Maurice Small is a farmer, teacher, and food systems builder whose work has taken him
from community gardens to city governments,
from neighborhood schools to international stages.
The Rodale Institute honored his work with its inaugural Organic Pioneer Award. He has represented the United States at Terra Madre, the global gathering of food communities in Italy.
